The Dream

The dream of d.o.b foundation comes from an enterprising family. The parents dream of a world in which not only their children but all children in the world can grow up in a place of opportunities. Opportunity by means of education and love, health and jobs. A world in which all people have the same opportunities.

This is why the parents support two support centres for Brazilian street children. If the father would have had more time, he would have wanted to do more developing work. However, in 1997 he suddenly dies. This is when De Oude Beuk Foundation, symbolic for the strong old father, is founded so that his work will be continued and expanded.

And this is exactly what happens. The foundation grows rapidly and is in need of more space. Space for the people who work there, for the guests and for the conferences, seminars and all activities that contribute to a just and enduring society.

De Nijensteen turns out to be the perfect place and is transformed into a place of gathering. A place where dreams are turned into action. A place where people use their talents to increase the capacities of others.

Because it is necessary. Because it can be done!
